The product is stable in the air, a small part of product decompose at 100 ℃. It dissolves in water, its solution turn acidic. The product slightly dissolves in alcohol, dose not dissolve in ketone. Since MAP has good thermal stability, at high temperatures MAP turns into ammonium phosphate, ammonium polyphosphate. The product is widely used as wood, paper, fabric flame retardant, dispersing agent in fiber processing and dye industries, fire retardant coating additives, dry powder extinguishing agent, also is used as the source of yeast culture of phosphorus nutrition and medicine. Also is used as a highly efficient fertilizer.
